Mine Winder For Turkish Mine

A British Mining equipment manufacturer contacted CCS Technology to design, write and commission the control software for a mine winder system for a Turkish Coal mine.The control system was based around a Mitsubishi A2 series PLC system whose main task is to control the velocity and position loop of the winding system. The winding motor itself is a 1500Kw DC machine and is capable of winding 90 men at a speed of 30mph vertically through the mine shaft. It goes without saying that multiple safety and monitoring systems are employed to provide a high integrity system. Interfaces to multiple monitoring and protection systems were employed together with a SCADA graphics interface.
