This huge 4 axis gantry robot used to move precision metal components through a heat treatment hardening process. The robot spans an area of over 10 by 30 metres and services two heat treatment Furness’s, multiple process and cooling tanks. This video was taken during commissioning trials being undertaken in Sweden.

The liquid is actually molten salt with a temperature of over 800 degrees Celsius, the white deposits are solidified salt that have cooled. The Robot is controlled by a Siemens 840D CNC controller with 5 Sinamic AC servo motors.
